What are Upsells?

Upsells or also known as "add-ons" are products or services offered to customers after selecting their tickets. This feature benefits both organisers and customers alike. For organisers, it is a way to maximise their revenues by adding products and for customers, it is an opportunity to get more value and extras with their tickets.

What are examples of Upsells?

  • Merchandise such as T-Shirts, Caps, and Mugs

  • Transportation Service

  • Accommodation Options

  • Food and Beverage Vouchers

How does Upsells work?

Upsells are seamlessly and strategically built right within the customer journey, specifically after ticket selection and before checking out, making sure that the conversion rates will not be affected by this subtle new step.

Here's how you can add Upsells to your event or attraction:

1. Go to Manage Tickets and click on Inventory Beta and then click on Upsells.

2. Once you're on the Upsells panel, click on Create Upsell.

3. To create an Upsell, you need to provide the following information.

  • Name - the name of the items to be sold, (for example "Shirt", "Limited Edition Cap", etc.)

  • Attribute - the attributes that define the items to be sold. (for example, Shirt attributes can have values such as Size, Color, or Style), note that you can set different prices and quotas for each attribute.

  • Custom Questions (Optional) - any other information you would like to collect for the items sold, (for example, Name of the customer to be printed on the Shirt, or delivery address, or preferred pick-up location, etc).

Custom questions can have several input types, meaning the format of the answer to be provided by the buyers. (For example Input Field for plain text, Radio Buttons to select one item, Dropdown if there are many items to choose from and so on.)

  • Scope restrictions - you may restrict the availability of your Upsells (for example, Upsells to be sold only on the Website but not the app, or White Label site),

  • Quantity restrictions - you may put a limit to the number of items sold per transaction or the number of orders per item allowed.

  • Images and Description - it is recommended to add pictures of and information about the items to help the customers make their decision to purchase.

4. Once you have provided the details and completed the setup, click on Create Upsell. You can add as much Upsell as you require.

5. Once you have multiple items listed on your Upsells panel, you can simply drag and arrange the items according to how you would like them to be ordered on the Upsells purchase page.

Upsells Purchase Page

Once you complete the setup of all the items to be sold, the Upsells purchase page will display your items as shown below.

Customers can select their preferred quantity and attributes per item, as well as input answers to custom questions.

Any item added to their cart adds up to the total price to be paid.

Upsells at Check Out

All the items selected will be automatically calculated and included in the order summary. Each item will be shown on the order summary section and check out section.

And you're done!
